Day 21 Self-Improvement Challenge
How to trust the process
Hey [Name],
Here we are, at Day 21 of this challenge, and I’m about to say something that might sound a bit crazy: Don’t set goals.
Let me explain.
Quick Reminder: Yesterday, we discussed Embracing Imperfection: Your Path to Consistency and Growth.. If you missed it, catch up here
The Anxiety of Goals
How do you feel when you set a goal?
For some people, it creates anxiety—especially when they miss a day of progress.
It feels like the goal is slipping away, and staying consistent becomes a struggle.
That’s why, instead of focusing on goals, I’ve shifted my attention to habits.
Why I Focus on Habits
Yesterday, I meet one of friend (He is a bookworm) . During our conversation he got surprised when i said I hadn’t read Atomic Habits.
But I’ve been living by similar principles for a while:
Daily Actions Matter More: Even if I’m not perfectly consistent, the small, daily actions I take still add up.
Goals Are Secondary: I’m less concerned with the goal (the outcome) and more with trusting the process.
For example, let’s take this 30-day Self-improvement challenge:
I might complete the challenge and hit my goal.
I might not complete it, but I’ll still learn something valuable—about myself or my work.
Either way, it’s a win. There’s no “failure” because I’m gaining something, regardless of the outcome. So why stress about the future when I can focus on what I can do today?
Tend to Your Habits, Not Just Your Goals
Think of your goals like metaphorical flowers.
Instead of stressing about whether they’ll bloom, focus on giving them the water and sunlight they need—your daily habits.
Set your goals, but let your energy be directed towards the habits that matter most.
That’s where real growth happens.
Were you consistent with your goals today? |
Remember, it’s not about being perfect. It’s about showing up every day and trusting that the process will lead you where you need to go.
See you tomorrow!
