Day 3 Self-Improvement Challenge
Finding your “why” (your core values)
Hey Ambitious,
It’s Day 3 of our 30-Day Self-Improvement Challenge!
Yesterday, we explored how your self-perception impacts your accomplishments. If you missed it, don’t worry—you can catch up on yesterday’s post here and leave a comment.
Today, let’s delve into how finding your “why” (your core values) helps you stay consistent with your self-improvement goals.
The Power of Values
It's easy to lose motivation without clearly understanding why you're pursuing a goal.
However, when your goals are aligned with your core values, you find a deeper, more enduring source of motivation.
This alignment makes it easier to stick to your self-improvement journey.
My Guiding Principle
Let me share my own experience.
I chose one measurable thing to live by: This reflects my values of ambition, optimism, and compassion.
My friend’s metric is the number of times she laughed so hard she cried, reflecting her values of joy, relationships, and fun.
My partner’s metric is the number of days she’s genuinely excited to wake up, highlighting her values of intentionality and authenticity.
Your Turn to Identify Your Values
Your values might already be guiding you subconsciously, but writing them down can provide clarity.
Connecting your self-improvement goals to your values makes it much easier to stick with them.
Post about your values on social media and tag me @ele8tedpath . Or reply to this email—I’d love to hear from you!
