Day 12 Self-Improvement Challenge

The Power of Streaks in Self-Improvement

Hey Ambitious ,

Ever had a Snapchat streak? Or maybe a Duolingo streak?

If you have, you know that once you’re on a roll, it’s tough to let it go.

It feels like all those days, weeks, or even months of effort would be wasted if you just… stopped.

I’ve been there too, and that’s exactly what I want to talk about today.

Yesterday, we discussed the idea of comparison—how it can either help or hinder your self-improvement journey. If you missed it, you can catch up here and share your thoughts.

Today, let’s dive into why streaks matter and how they can help you stay on track with your goals.

The Magic of Long Streaks

Once you’ve been doing something consistently for a while, it feels like a waste to break the streak.

That’s why, after 30 days of our self-improvement challenge, you’ll hopefully feel that it’s too valuable to stop. You’ll want to keep going.

Think about it—what’s something you do every day without fail?

Maybe it’s brushing your teeth, checking your phone, or making coffee.

Now, try combining that daily routine with the habit you’re working on.

Example: If you brush your teeth every day but want to incorporate daily exercise, try doing squats while you brush. It’s a simple way to build a new habit on top of an existing one, and before you know it, you’ll have a streak you won’t want to break.
