Day 16 Self-Improvement Challenge

Finding Time for Your Goals Without Burning Out

“I want to do this, but I just don’t have time.”

Sound familiar?

I hear it often when people ask for advice.

Hey Ambitious,

Today, I’ll share how you can make time for your goals without burning out.

Yesterday, we discussed aligning your actions with your values (catch up here if you missed it). Now, let’s focus on managing your time and energy.

Audit Your Daily Tasks

Inspired by a Tweet, here’s a simple method:

  • Add +1 for tasks that give you energy.

  • Subtract -1 for tasks that drain your energy.

  • Neutral tasks get a 0.

At the end of the day, tally your scores. Aim for a positive number to prevent burnout.

The goal?

Do more things that energize you.

Combine Tasks to Stay Positive

If you’re consistently ending your day with a negative number, try combining tasks:

  • If chores (-1) drain you, combine them with something enjoyable, like listening to music or a podcast (+1). The result? A neutral or positive task.

Examples:

  • Exercise + time with friends (work out together)

  • Reading (audiobook) + going for a walk

  • Attending meetings + stretching

Your Turn
