Day 17 Self-improvement Challenge
How to Beat Overwhelm and Stay Consistent with Your Goals
Have you ever found yourself staring at a big project, feeling completely overwhelmed?
Maybe you’ve thought, “This is too much, I’ll never get it done,” and then pushed it off until tomorrow, or worse, never started at all.
If this sounds familiar, you're not alone. 😊
I used to struggle with this too—until I learned a few strategies that changed everything.
Today, I’m going to share them with you.
P.S. yesterday, we learned about aligning your actions with your values (catch up on previous posts here and leave a comment).
The Power of Public Accountability 💬
One of the most effective ways I’ve found to combat procrastination and overwhelm is to publicly commit to your goals. There’s something about telling others that makes your commitment feel real.
In August, I decided to start a 30-day Self-improvement challenge. I didn’t write 30 days of content all at once—instead, I committed to writing one piece each day.
By making my commitment public, I felt accountable to follow through.
And guess what?
It worked.
The key lesson here: Publicly commit to your goals. Share your plans with someone—a friend, a family member, or even your social media followers.
When others know about your goals, you’re more likely to stick with them.
Small Steps Lead to Big Results 👣
Another strategy that has helped me tremendously is breaking down my goals into smaller, manageable tasks. Instead of trying to tackle everything at once, I focused on just 10 minutes of work each day.
For example, each evening, I spent about 10-15 minutes writing the content for the next day’s challenge. By the end of the month, I had created 30 pieces of content without ever feeling overwhelmed.
The takeaway: Focus on small, consistent actions. Doing just a little bit each day adds up to significant progress over time.
Check-In: How Are You Doing with Your Habits?
As we wrap up, I want to remind you to check in with yourself.
Were you consistent with your goals today? |
If not, it’s okay—just pick it back up tomorrow. The most important thing is to keep moving forward, one small step at a time.
Final Thoughts 💭
Overwhelm is a common enemy, but it’s one you can beat by committing publicly and breaking your goals down into manageable tasks. Remember, it’s not about making giant leaps—it’s about making steady, consistent progress.
See you tomorrow, where we’ll continue this journey together.
Stay consistent,
