Day 8 Self-Improvement Challenge

Stop comparing yourself to others, including me

Hey Ambitious,

It's Day 8 of our self-improvement challenge, and we’re already in week 2—almost halfway there!

Yesterday, we explored how to make self-improvement fun (if you missed it, you can catch up here).

But today, I want to talk about something crucial: why you shouldn’t follow my self-improvement strategies to the letter.

My Journey Is Not Yours

I get asked all the time, "How do you manage full-time work and content creation?"

And while I'm happy to share what works for me, I hesitate to give concrete advice.

Why?

Because our lives are different.

Here’s the thing: I’m fortunate to have a remote job at a startup that offers a lot of flexibility.

Plus, writing and creating videos is something I’ve always loved—so it feels natural to me, even after all the practice it took to get here.

But that’s not everyone’s story. Your life, responsibilities, and passions are unique, and so should be your approach to self-improvement.

Focus on What Works for You

When I say "stay consistent," I don’t mean you need to pump out daily posts or emails like I do.

For you, consistency might look like one thoughtful post a week.

And that’s more than okay—it’s what fits your life.

Expecting yourself to mirror someone else’s routine—especially if you have different work conditions or skills—can set you up for frustration.

Instead, concentrate on what’s realistic and achievable for you.

The Key Takeaway

Stop comparing yourself to others, including me.

Focus on what’s doable within your own schedule and lifestyle.

Your self-improvement efforts should serve you, not the other way around.
